 Obedience Training

All training is using operant conditioning behavior analysis (positive methods) come watch if you would like to.

Jr Puppy Class – 1 hour per week for 7 weeks / $125.00 HST

(For puppies 10-19 weeks at the start of class)

This class is for puppies between the ages of 10 -19 weeks at the start of class session.

The following topics will be worked on in class:

• Walking on a loose lead in the presence of people and other dogs

• The puppy will be taught verbal and signal commands for sit, stand, down, wait, and stay

• "Coming " when called even with distractions of people, toys and dogs

• Understand an "Off" command

• Sit Stay and Down Stay and Wait commands

• Fun retrieve of toys to hand

• How to meet and greet people without jumping up

• Manners around a food bowl

• Door Exits and Door greetings

• Bring the whole family to class. All training is fun and motivational with lots of treats and games. Puppy agility equipment will be used to build confidence and for fun exercise.

• The first week of classes you do not bring the puppies but it is a full 1 and 15 minute class discussing nipping and biting, socialization, leadership, etc.

Basic Obedience 1 – 1 hour per week for 7 weeks / $125.00 + HST

(For dogs 5 months of age and older)

• Sit and down

• Couple of tricks
• Address any behavioural issues such as house training, barking, jumping and chewing

Obedience 2 – 1 hour per week for 7 weeks / $125.00 + HST

(Must have completed Obedience 1)

• More Heel work and proofing for sit stays and down stays
• fun games to enhance skills
• Work towards your Canine Good Neighbour Certification

Obedience 3 – 1 hour per week for 7 weeks / advanced – $125.00 +HST

• Focus on good pet control with more distractions
• More sit and down stay work
• More control around other dogs and new situations

Competitive Rally Obedience –7 weeks – $ 125.00 + HST

Competition Obedience Classes – $140.0 + HST

Competitive Puppy 2  7 weeks at $140.00 + HST

The competitive puppy 2 program is geared towards people wanting to compete in obedience, rally or even agility. We work on obedience exercises in a fun motivating manner up to the utility level. We also will cover some of the necessary movements for rally. We also focus on some basics for agility without equipment. For this course you must have completed a puppy 1 program.

Novice Attention 1 7 weeks  at $140.0 + HST

This course is designed to teach your dog to heel with  full attention on you including speed changes. This type of focus attention is used in competition obedience and rally but is also helpful for agility dogs. We also work on fronts, finishes, recalls, sit for exam, stand for exam, sphinx drops, waits, sit and down stays, stationary attention and other necessary ring procedures.

Novice Attention 2  7 weeks at $140.0 + HST

This class continues to work on attention heeling as well as each week you will learn footwork for all turns, halts and figure 8's and circle 8's. We will continue to work on  fronts, finishes, recalls, sit for exam, stand for exam, sphinx drops, waits, sit and down stays, stationary attention and other necessary ring procedures. Examples of homework ideas will also be given. Must have completed Attention 1 to join this class.

Novice Trial Prep / Beginner Open  7 weeks at $140.0 + HST

This course is designed to help you and your canine companion work smoothly together for the ring. Patterns and run throughs will be done in this level. Group stays and all other exercises will continue to be broken down and kept motivational. We will also begin to work on the components of the open ring (Drops, retrieve on flat and over high, broad jump and off lead heeling. Out of site stays will be started as well. Please contact us for requirements if you have not completed the Attention 2 program.
