You must preregister(Fill in application and make your payment) for all classes and receive a call to confirm your spot in class.


 

 Obedience Training

All training is using operant conditioning behavior analysis (positive methods) come watch if you would like to.

 

Jr Puppy Class – 1 hour per week

(For puppies 10-19 weeks at the start of class)

Sr Puppy Class - 1 hour per week

(For Puppies 5 months to 11 months at the start of class)

This class is divided by age of puppies but the material taught will be the same.

 

The following topics will be worked on in class:

  • Walking on a loose lead in the presence of people and other dogs

  • The puppy will be taught verbal and signal commands for sit, stand, down, wait, and stay

  • "Coming " when called even with distractions of people, toys and dogs

  • Understand an "Off" command

  • Sit Stay and Down Stay and Wait commands

  • Fun retrieve of toys to hand

  • How to meet and greet people without jumping up

  • Manners around a food bowl

  • Door Exits and Door greetings

  • Bring the whole family to class. All training is fun and motivational with lots of treats and games. Puppy agility equipment will be used to build confidence and for fun exercise.

 

Basic Obedience 1 – 1 hour per week (For dogs 1 year of age and older)

  • Sit and down
  • Come, come, come
  • Walking on a loose leash
  • Sit stay and down stay
  • Fun !!! Recalls !!!
  • Couple of tricks
  • Address any behavioural issues such as house training, barking, jumping and chewing
  • Fun, motivational class
  • Start heel position

Obedience 2 – 1 hour per week

(Must have completed Obedience 1)

  • More Heel work and proofing for sit stays and down stays
  • fun games to enhance skills
  • Work towards your Canine Good Neighbour Certification

Obedience 3 – 1 hour per week

  • Focus on good pet control with more distractions
  • More sit and down stay work
  • More control around other dogs and new situations

Competitive Rally Obedience –

  • Novice Level classes
  • Advanced Level classes
  • Excellent Level Classes
